Hi, I'm Mike and welcome to my digital storefront. It's June which means it's hot & humid, with many people flocking to beaches, pools, lakes and rivers to enjoy being in the water. Here's a bit about me: I've been a Knoxville resident since 1989, which is when I moved here from my hometown of Kingston TN to attend the University of Tennessee. I'm a proud graduate of UT and I've attended UT football and basketball games since the mid 80's. I love sports and they've been a large part of my life since I was young; whether participating or watching. My love of sports was passed onto my kids. My son is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Chemical Engineering. When he was in high school, he was on two state championship teams; Cross Country and Soccer. My daughter, who attends Auburn University and is majoring in Exercise Science, was also on a high school state championship team for Cross Country. Even though their high school years are behind them, she reminds her brother that he's not the only state champ in the family. For myself, I've found that hiking, e-biking, camping, and kayaking are my passions these days more than playing sports. With the Great Smoky Mountains just 45 minutes from my home, it's easy to hit the trails for a hike to amazing waterfall, camp in Cade's Cove, or stand atop Mt Leconte to take in God's creation. If you ever have an inkling to make the trek up to Leconte, just do it! You'll be glad you did. It's truly amazing up there. The sunset photo above is one I took from Mt Leconte about five years ago. If you're ever in my office, you'll see photos of my many hikes & adventures on the walls.
