It's October! For many, that means leaf season, vests and flannel shirts, patio fires, and of course, many football rivalries. Hey, I'm Mike and welcome to my digital storefront. Here's a bit about me: I've been a Knoxville resident since 1989, when I moved here from my hometown of Kingston TN to attend the University of Tennessee. I'm a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee who's attended UT football and basketball games since the mid 80's. Sports has been a large part of my life since I was young; whether participating or watching. My love of sports was passed onto my kids which I appreciate. My son, who studies chemical engineering at Virginia Tech, was instrumental in helping his high school cross country and soccer teams each win the State Championship his senior year. It's a amazing feat that he'll be able to tell his kids about some day. My daughter, who attends Auburn University and is studying exercise science, was a distance runner in high school, competing in both cross country and track. She and her cross country teammates won State her senior year, so like her brother, she is proud to be on a state championship team. For myself, I've found that hiking, biking, camping, and kayaking are my passions these days more than playing sports. With the Great Smoky Mountains just 45 minutes from my home, it's easy to hit the trails and hike to amazing waterfall, camp in Cade's Cove, or stand atop Mt Leconte to take in God's creation. If you ever have an inkling to make the trek up to Leconte, just do it! You'll be glad you did. It's truly amazing up there. The sunset photo above is one I took from Mt Leconte about five years ago. If you're ever in my office, you'll see photos os my adventures on my walls.
